- Commercial Markets, reporting to the Market Director
- Commercial Markets, you’ll be accountable for providing underwriter support to your respective commercial banking team. Assistance may be required to support another commercial banking team on an as needed basis. Emphasis will be placed on underwriting and ensuring applications meet acceptable risk requirements in accordance with prudent lending practices and corporate lending policies, as well as regulatory and legislative requirements.

Working closely with internal partners, the individual will understand, identify, and deliver auxiliary solutions that will help our members operate more efficiently, manage risks, support their employees, and ensure the financial fitness of the business and principals.

What You’ll be Doing:
  • Understand, analyze, and interpret standard business lending reports, including but not limited to: balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, tax returns, personal financial statements, business plans, projections, rent rolls, appraisals, environmental, and building condition reports.
  • Identify areas of risk and recommend mitigating solutions and next steps.
  • Prepare and recommend risk ratings, appropriate collateral structures that are in-line with organizational policies.
  • Ensure appropriate attachments are provided to Credit Path applications.
  • Research, review, and analyze industry data, market studies, competitive information, management’s ability, member’s industry, member’s competition, and regional impacts for this member.
  • Review and recommend reporting, administrative, and financial covenants that mitigate and manage risk, while being appropriately set to fit the member’s needs.
  • Recommend loan structures and pricing structures that balance risk and return on capital.
  • Meets the service level agreements for volumes, accuracy, and timeliness. Minimizes errors and rework situations.
  • Act as a resource to Credit Analysts and Commercial Banking Advisors.
  • Work with the organizations internal credit department to discuss and negotiate credit proposals and applications.
  • Provides complete analysis of loan package for new deals, as well as reviews of existing relationships, utilizing the various underwriting methods as established by Credit Department.
  • Determine financial and repayment analysis with a focus on cash flow, liquidity, leverage, debt service coverage including global DSC analytics to identify key risks and mitigating factors.
  • Identify loan purpose, source of repayment, and collateral value.
  • Understands and applies relevant credit policies to the underwriting process.
  • Review Credit Facility Letters and prior loan applications to ensure compliance to credit approvals.
  • Recommend loans for approval above approved lending limits to the required authority level.
  • Discuss with RM, and SRM to structure and document credit and cash management arrangements with current and prospective members.
