Loan Officer

As the Loan Officer, and the key liaison between the advance payment program and producers, you will guide applicants through the loan process while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

The successful candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and a proactive professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, communicates with clarity and confidence and is passionate about supporting agricultural producers.

• Develop strong long-term relationships with producers through clear phone and email communication and providing excellent customer service
• Assess loan applications for accuracy, completeness and adherence to program requirements
• Ensure loan agreements comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  
  Conduct credit analysis and evaluate collateral and other risk factors to support sound lending decisions
• Monitor loan performance and assist with issue resolution as needed
• Clearly communicate loan decisions and explain loan terms and conditions in a professional manner
• Collaborate with internal team to ensure a seamless lending experience
• Attend trade shows and industry events through program promotion and engagement with stakeholders

• Post-secondary education in business administration, finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related field preferred
• Experience in banking, lending, financial services, loan processor or underwriter experience considered an asset
• Familiarity with lending regulations and compliance standards
• Experience with in agriculture including lending experience an asset
• Numerical proficiency and familiarity with financial calculations
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills are essential for evaluating loan applications, assessing risk and making lending decisions
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
• Problem-solving abilities and capacity to work effectively under pressure to resolve issues and meet deadlines
• Adaptability and willingness to learn are important in an evolving industry where technology and regulations may change
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience working with loan management systems considered an asset
• Willingness to travel occasionally for industry events

This is a full-time onsite position in Calgary, Alberta.
