Our client is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join their Calgary team. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role supports the development and enhancement of the enterprise risk management (ERM) program in alignment with OSFI requirements. The successful candidate will lead enterprise, operational, third-party, fraud, insurance, and business continuity risk initiatives, driving effective risk mitigation, strong governance, and regulatory compliance.
A proven track record of implementing risk strategies within the financial services sector and building strong cross-functional partnerships is essential.
- Support implementation and enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
- Ensure compliance with OSFI guidelines and regulatory expectations.
- Maintain and update risk policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct enterprise-wide risk assessments and support RCSAs.
- Maintain risk registers, risk profiles, and issue logs.
- Develop, monitor, and report KRIs and risk appetite metrics.
- Prepare risk reports for management, Board committees, and regulators.
- Manage risk events, root cause analysis, and remediation activities.
- Support regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Advise business units on risk management practices and control design.
- Promote risk awareness through training, guidance, and cross-functional collaboration while supporting evolving business priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field; CFA, FRM, or CRM preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of risk management, audit, or compliance experience within a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of OSFI regulations and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.
- Experience with RCSAs, KRIs, risk reporting, and risk governance practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, influence senior leaders, and exercise sound professional judgment.
