What you’ll do
Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific position assigned to but they may include:
Finance
Assist in the preparation of external and legal entity financial documents for regulatory bodies and other stakeholders.
Support data validation and accuracy in compliance with financial reporting standards.
Collaborate with internal reporting teams to ensure alignment of internal reports with external and legal entity disclosures.
Accounting
Record and analyze financial transactions related to refining and marketing operations.
Prepare variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
Support financial reporting processes, budgeting, and operational risk management.
Business Development
Support analysis, reporting, and preparation of business cases related to transportation, logistics, and commercial opportunities.
Assist with organizing data, documents, and contracts across internal systems and tools.
Contribute to cross-functional projects involving market research, mapping, and business development support.
Commercial Operations
Work alongside experienced Commercial Operations professionals to support the planning, scheduling, and movement of crude oil and diluent across North American markets.
Contribute to commercial and financial activities by assisting with transaction validation, pricing processes, and operational reporting.
Leverage data analytics to uncover insights, improve workflows, and support initiatives that drive operational excellence and business value.
Market Analytics
Analyze crude oil supply, demand, inventories, refinery activity, pipeline flows, imports/exports and pricing to identify market trends and support the team’s fundamental market view.
Build and improve analytical tools, dashboards and forecasts using market data, SQL/Excel/Python and other data sources to automate recurring analysis and highlight market opportunities.
Research crude oil regions and infrastructure, monitor market developments, and communicate insights through regular reports and ad-hoc analysis supporting commercial and trading decisions.
Who you are
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
Available to begin work in January 2027.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel.
Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision-making skills.
A curious mindset with a willingness to ask questions, challenge assumption, and continuously learn.

Education
Must be enrolled in a Business Undergraduate Program (Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Comp Sciences, Accounting areas preferred) at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
