Position Overview

Under the direction of the Food and Beverage Manager, the Event Supervisor will oversee all aspects of an event, including set‑up, food service, bar service and controls while focusing on detail and quality presentation and customer service. Event Centre Supervisors are also responsible for training and coaching the event center F&B staff, while providing a great customer experience.

Responsibilities and Experience
  • Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Remains alert of complaints and or unsatisfied guests and responds in a timely and efficient manner using tact and professionalism to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations.
  • Supervises employees ensuring the appropriate and efficient completion of job functions, and that customer and staff member needs are addressed while maintaining both safety and a high level of customer service.
  • Supervises all set‑up and breakdown is completed in a timely manner as per the event order.
  • Supervises and checks setup accuracy. Ensures all rooms and bar are properly set up including dishware, glassware, silverware, linens and other amenities, and rooms are refreshed to maintain professional presentation of the room during meeting breaks.
  • Ensures scheduled staff arrive on time, maintain personal hygiene and grooming, are dressed in proper uniform, and are issued equipment and supplies as necessary.
  • Constantly supervises all food handling to ensure the highest level of sanitation is maintained throughout all food service areas.
  • Attends or leads pre-shift meetings, staff meetings, shift preparation, service and closing duties.
  • Ensures timesheets for staff are completed and submitted for signature, and employee breaks are allocated and calculated.
  • Using exceptional attention to detail, reads, interprets and expedites instructions on the event order and diagrams precisely and in a timely manner.
  • Supervises bar operations and follows the proper control procedures.
  • Ensures health, safety and cleanliness standards are maintained in all areas of the event center.
  • Is able to do billing and has knowledge in point-of-sale systems.
  • Accurately performs administrative tasks as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Prior supervisor experience would be an asset.
  • Ability to understand various types of equipment and set-up styles for events, including basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as per the event order and floor plan for set-ups.
  • Basic knowledge of AV and electrical equipment set‑up processes would be an asset.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work in accordance with set health and safety standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor areas for off‑site events.
  • Ability to perform under pressure during busy days effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism.
  • Can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Performs work well with accuracy, speed and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Adapts to understanding guest’s service needs.
  • Clear thinker who can remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
  • Ability to operate all necessary equipment such as moving carts, cargo truck, etc.
  • Willingness to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with grooming standards.
  • Valid and clean drivers’ license is an asset.
  • Valid AGLC Pro Serve is a must.

Priority will be given to Tsuut’ina Nation members.
