Room Attendant (NOC 65310)
Rate of Pay: $ 18.20 per hour
THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN KANANASKIS, AB. SUBSIDIZED STAFF HOUSING IS AVAILABLE.
The RoleAs a Room Attendant, you are expected to look at each room that you service through the eyes of the guest and using attention to detail meet or exceed the required cleanliness standards. All this is achieved with health and safety also being top of mind. The positions are full‑time 30-40 hours per week and may work night shifts as a public area cleaning attendant, which includes a shift premium.
This position may be eligible for incentives or bonuses.
- Ensure that the guest rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable; surpassing our strict set of quality standards.
- Identify and communicate maintenance deficiencies and opportunities to the appropriate department.
- Greet guests with a smile in a warm and courteous manner and consistently providing genuinely hospitable guest service.
- Respond to guest requests promptly.
- Work as a team player.
- Handle Lost and Found items.
- Ensure quality and guest satisfaction.
- Clean and disinfect all bathroom fixtures and surfaces.
- Change and make beds.
- Sweep and mop floors and/or vacuum carpet.
- Dust and polish all furniture.
- Empty all refuse containers.
- Spot clean any walls, trim, moldings, door frames as needed.
- Replenish all amenity supplies and linen.
- Organize and maintain an adequate supply of relevant items on the cart and in the stock room.
- Housekeeping or professional cleaning experience an asset.
- WHMIS Training an asset.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 10 lbs., including linens, amenities, garbage, and cleaning supplies.
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting to clean bathrooms, floors, and low-level surfaces.
- Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements while wiping, scrubbing, dusting, and sanitizing guest rooms.
- Frequent reaching, including reaching above shoulder height to clean mirrors, windows, shelves, and high-touch areas.
- Frequent pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. of housekeeping carts, vacuums, and supply bins throughout the property.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, including strong odours, with required PPE.
- May be required to use stairs frequently depending on building layout and elevator access.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Annual wage and performance review.
