HR Administrator

  • Head Office, Calgary AB
Primary Function

The HR Administrator provides administrative support to the HR team of CRMR. This role assists with daily tasks related to HR administration, benefits administration, workplace safety, internal communications, and employee engagement.

Reports to

Director of HR / Assistant Director of HR (Hours As required)

Duties & Responsibilities Benefits Administration
  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other group benefits
  • Process benefit enrollments, terminations, changes, and qualifying life events while ensuring accuracy of all benefits data
  • Serve as primary contact for employee benefits inquiries, claims resolution, and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with insurance providers
  • Communicate benefits updates, open enrollment periods, and program changes to employees
Workplace Safety & Workers’ Compensation
  • Coordinate and administer WCB (Alberta) and WorkSafeBC (British Columbia) claims from initiation through resolution
  • Submit employer reports, communicate with employees, and coordinate with claims adjusters
  • Issue and manage modified work agreements for both work-related and non-work-related injuries
  • Track workplace incidents and support return-to-work programs
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation
Onboarding Support
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding including paperwork, benefits enrollment, and orientation scheduling
  • Ensure all onboarding documentation and requirements are completed prior to the employee’s first day
  • Work with the HRIS program to upload and organize onboarding documentation, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor onboarding checklist completion and follow up with new hires as needed to ensure smooth start dates
  • Update and maintain accurate employee information in the HRIS system
  • Ensure new employees have a smooth transition and positive first impression
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
  • Create and distribute company wide newsletters
  • Manage company wide email communications and internal announcements
  • Maintain and distribute monthly company directory updates across all properties
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs including:
  • Processing and tracking staff 6-month accommodation vouchers
  • Managing employee work anniversary celebrations and recognition
  • Coordinating other employee engagement initiatives
  • Support company wide events, activities, and culture-building initiatives
  • Maintain internal communication channels and ensure consistent messaging
Experience / Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources (or working towards it) is an asset
  • Experience in the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of Alberta and British Columbia employment standards legislation
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Customer service mindset with a focus on employee experience
  • Experience working in a multi‑property or multi‑location environment
