Our client is seeking an experienced Recruiter to join their team in Calgary. This role will lead the full-cycle talent acquisition function for all Canadian operations, serving as the primary strategic advisor to hiring managers nationwide.
The successful candidate will leverage modern recruitment tools and best-in-class sourcing strategies, including professional networking and advanced talent search techniques, to build and sustain a strong pipeline of top talent. Based in the Calgary office, this position requires occasional travel (approximately quarterly, as needed) to the Toronto office to strengthen hiring manager relationships and ensure alignment with national business objectives. This role plays a critical part in attracting the skilled professionals required to support the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Consultation
Act as the lead recruitment partner for all Canadian business units by understanding workforce needs, forecasting hiring demands, and developing proactive recruitment strategies.
Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and implement effective interview and selection processes aligned with business objectives.
Provide market insights and hiring guidance to support informed decision-making and consistent candidate evaluation.
Sourcing, Recruitment & Candidate Engagement
Design and execute advanced sourcing strategies using tools such as Linked In Recruiter and professional networks to attract qualified candidates.
Maintain a strong pipeline of talent for both current and future hiring needs.
Represent our client professionally in the marketplace by communicating the organization’s culture, values, and career opportunities.
Manage the full candidate lifecycle, including screening, interview coordination, and delivering a positive candidate experience.
Process Management & Reporting
Prepare, negotiate, and extend employment offers in collaboration with Human Resources and hiring managers.
Track and report on key recruitment metrics to drive data-informed talent strategies.
Ensure recruitment activities comply with company policies, legal standards, and best practices, while maintaining data integrity in the ATS.
Team & Organizational Leadership
Provide coaching and mentorship on recruitment best practices to junior team members and colleagues.
Develop and deliver training for hiring managers on effective interviewing and selection techniques.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance recruitment programs and processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, with a minimum of seven years of progressive full-cycle technical recruitment experience.
Proven success recruiting for technical and professional roles within engineering, architecture, or construction environments.
Strong expertise in modern sourcing strategies and demonstrated proficiency with tools such as Linked In Recruiter and applicant tracking systems.
Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of developing creative recruitment solutions.
Experience designing and delivering hiring manager training programs focused on interviewing and selection best practices.
In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, including federal and provincial compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to build strong, consultative relationships across all organizational levels.
Preferred: 7–10 years of full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally within a staffing agency environment.
