The Manager, Compensation & Benefits is responsible for overseeing and evolving enterprise-wide compensation, benefits, and equity programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring competitive, compliant, and scalable total rewards programs that support enterprise goals and enhance the team member experience. The position includes ownership of compensation structures, benefits administration, equity compensation programs, and leave of absence programs, currently across the United States and Canada.
** ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
**** Compensation
* ** Lead the design, administration, and governance of enterprise compensation programs across the U.S. and Canada in a publicly traded environment.
* Support annual compensation cycles including salary reviews, incentive planning, and equity grant or refresh cycles.
* Conduct market benchmarking, job evaluations, and pay equity analyses to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.
* Develop and maintain salary structures, equity guidelines, and total rewards governance frameworks aligned with business strategy.
* Administer public company equity compensation programs (e.g., RSUs, ESPPs, and other long-term incentives), including grant execution, vesting, terminations, team member inquiries, and equity lifecycle management.
* Partner closely with Legal, Finance, Payroll, Tax, and external equity administrators to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant equity administration.
** Benefits and Leave of Absence
*** Oversee U.S. and Canadian benefits programs including health, welfare, retirement, and wellness offerings.
* Manage vendor relationships with benefits administrators, brokers, and equity administrators.
* Develop a Leave of Absence framework, matrix, and administrative procedures. Ensure compliant and effective administration of leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state/provincial leaves, disability, and statutory leaves across both countries.
* Lead annual benefits renewal processes, cost modeling, and plan design decisions in partnership with Finance.
* Continuously evaluate benefits and equity offerings to support attraction, retention, and team member wellbeing in a competitive talent market.
** Systems, Compliance, and Analytics
*** Serve as a subject matter expert for compensation, benefits, and equity within Workday HCM, partnering closely with HRIS and Payroll teams.
* Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian federal, state/provincial, and local regulations related to compensation, benefits, equity, and leaves.
* Support SOX controls, audits, and internal governance requirements related to compensation, equity administration, and benefits processes.
* Develop and maintain reporting and analytics to support leadership decision-making, and regulatory requirements.
* Document, maintain, and enhance standard operating procedures and internal controls for total rewards processes.
** Leadership and Collaboration
*** Act as a trusted advisor to People leadership, Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders on compensation, benefits, and equity strategy.
* Support change management and team member communications related to total rewards programs in a high-growth environment.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement and scalability of total rewards programs as the organization grows and evolves.
* Mentor and guide direct team and cross-functional partners as needed.
** SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
*** Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Finance, Business, or related field strongly preferred.
* Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), CEBS, or similar credentials strongly preferred.
* 7+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards / Compensation and Benefits.
* Hands-on experience managing compensation, benefits, and equity programs in both the U.S. and Canada.
* Direct experience administering public company equity programs.
* Experience supporting compliance, audits, and governance processes (including SOX or similar internal controls)
* Experience administering equity through third-party equity platforms.
* Experience working with Workday HCM (compensation, benefits, equity, reporting, or integrations).
* Experience supporting multi-state and multi-province organizations.
* Background in a high-growth, scaling, or transformation-focused company
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present insights to senior leadership.
* Strong working knowledge of benefits administration, including leave of absence programs in both countries.#LI-KO1
