Oversee performance management processes, including progressive discipline and development planning.
Support consistent expectations across stores.
HR Systems & Documentation
Develop and formalize HR documentation frameworks.
Implement and maintain document control systems to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.
Build structured onboarding and training documentation processes.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure full compliance with Alberta Employment Standards, the Alberta Human Rights Code, and applicable employment legislation.
Provide practical legal insight to leadership on employment matters.
Identify and mitigate organizational risk related to people practices.
Employee Relations
Advise leadership on complex employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
Act as a trusted, steady resource during sensitive situations.
Recruitment & Hiring Volume
Support retail hiring needs across locations.
Balance recruitment demands with longer-term HR project work and systems development.
Requirements
Proven HR leadership experience within a retail environment.
Strong knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Alberta Human Rights Code, and employment law.
Experience overseeing HR across multiple locations.
Demonstrated ability to manage project work while handling ongoing recruitment activity.
Strong organizational discipline and documentation expertise.
Confident communicator capable of advising senior leadership on sensitive employee matters.
