Career Opportunities# 2026 First Year Summer Law Student Calgary Temporary  Full-Time## The Summer Student Experience Blakes allows students to experience what it is like to practise law at a top-tier law firm, get to know Blakes lawyers and gain an understanding of the Firm’s culture. Through the course of the summer, students can expect to be involved in a variety of assignments from different practice groups.

Each student will be assigned two formal mentors (one in a transactional practice group and one in a dispute resolution practice group) to help students obtain broad experience.

Throughout the summer, students will participate in a wide range of social events. These events are a great way to connect with our lawyers and other students at the Firm. Such events include casual lunches, organized student events, a day at the Calgary Stampede rodeo for mentors and students, and our annual golf tournament. As an integral part of the Calgary office team, students are also invited to participate in business development opportunities and attend various client functions.
