Make an impact with our Legal & Risk Management team as Legal Counsel. This diverse team of professionals provides legal expertise to support the success of our operations across a broad range of practice areas. Responsibilities
Manage employment litigation on behalf of the Firm, from early case assessment and strategy development to drafting pleadings and conducting research and analysisWork closely with business leaders to support a broad range of employment areas, including discipline and terminationsIdentify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations quicklyDevelop good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including working effectively with outside counselConduct legal research and provide practical advice to various leaders and executivesAdvise senior human resource leadership on a variety of employment-related issuesDraft concise emails and legal documentsAssist in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures, and provide legal support on various strategic human resources initiativesSkills and Experience
Minimum of three to five years of post-call or related experience in employment law at a law firm or in-house legal department, including court or tribunal appearancesExcellent knowledge of human rights legislation, trends and practicesKnowledge of privacy law is considered an assetExcellent oral and written communication and strong organizational skillsBilingual (English and French) is considered an asset
