As a Managing Consultant ,
Project Manager (Capital Project Delivery) with ERM - one of the world’s leading sustainability and environmental consulting firms - you’ll play a key role in advancing projects that shape the future of mining, energy, and environmental stewardship across Canada. This position is ideally based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Whitehorse
; however, qualified candidates located in Kimberley, Fernie, Sparwood (BC), or the Crowsnest Pass (AB) will also be considered.
ERM’s clients rely on us to guide major initiatives with environmental, health, safety, social, and risk considerations at the forefront. As a Project Manager, Capital Project Delivery, you’ll provide essential leadership support, ensuring that high-profile, multistakeholder projects are delivered with precision, quality, strong client engagement and disciplined project management. Your work strengthens both the technical execution and the client trust that ERM is known for globally.
WhatYour Impact Is
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in guiding mining, energy, and environmental stewardship projects from early proposal development through to final report completion. You’ll help bring clarity and structure to complex environmental initiatives by coordinating multidisciplinary teams so that each project advances with purpose and accountability. Your ability to translate client goals into actionable plans will directly influence how schedules are designed, budgets are managed, logistics are coordinated, and high-quality outcomes are delivered for defined scopes of work.
You’ll work directly with clients to understand what they are trying to achieve and help steer technical teams toward solutions that meet those expectations, escalating risks as appropriate. Your grounding in project controls will be essential in keeping work on track, on budget, and aligned with commitments.
Your contributions will extend beyond project mechanics. You’ll support a broad range of environmental projects, champion a strong culture of health and safety, and help foster collaboration across ERM’s internal networks. In doing so, you’ll become part of a global community of practitioners working together to tackle some of the most meaningful environmental and social challenges facing our clients.
What You’ll BringRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of consulting experience in environmental or related technical disciplines.
- Experience in the mining and/or energy sector.
- Proven ability to coordinate and manage environmental scopes of work.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while aligning with internal governance and direction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated competence with core project management practices (change management, risk management, quality management, financial tracking).
- Demonstrated financial literacy, with the ability to lead project controls activities such as budget tracking, cost forecasting, invoicing support, and understanding project financial performance.
- This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred
- Experience developing and managing project schedules, including dependencies and critical path.
- Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet).
- Experience managing environmental, regulatory, permitting, and/or field programs.
- Field data collection experience (wildlife, terrestrial ecology, soils, wetlands, aquatic biology, hydrology).
- Project Management Professional (PMP), or other related certification, is also an advantage.
- Bilingual in English and French and/or Spanish.
