The Opportunity
Reporting to senior leadership, the General Manager will be responsible for the day‑to‑day and long‑term performance of the business. This role oversees all functional areas, ensuring alignment across construction, sales, customer experience, and corporate operations, while driving efficiency, profitability, and scalable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction across operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards
Oversee construction management teams including Construction Managers, Site Superintendents, and field operations, fostering accountability and performance
Lead and support corporate functions including estimating, design, warranty, and accounting
Partner closely with sales and marketing teams, including Area Managers, to align operational capacity with market demand and customer expectations
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the homebuilding process
Lead P&L performance, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and overall profitability
Drive costing accuracy, margin improvement, and disciplined financial management across all projects
Establish and track key performance indicators, setting clear goals and ensuring alignment across departments
Identify and implement process improvements, systems, and technologies to enhance efficiency and scalability
Provide leadership in a fast‑paced, evolving environment, contributing to strategic planning and execution of growth initiatives
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performing culture across the organization
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of progressive leadership experience within residential home building or a related construction environment
Proven track record in a senior operational leadership role, ideally at the General Manager, Director, or VP level
Strong understanding of construction operations, project management, and site execution
Solid financial acumen, including P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Experience overseeing cross‑functional teams, both in the field and in‑office
Demonstrated ability to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency
Tech‑savvy with an openness to adopting and implementing new tools and platforms
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with a client‑first approach
