Trycewell Partners is excited to be partnering on a confidential VP of Commercial search with a growing North American organization within the industrial services sector based in Western Canada.

This is a high impact executive leadership opportunity for a commercially driven leader who thrives on relationship building, strategic growth, and leading high performing teams. Reporting directly to the President, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping commercial strategy, strengthening customer partnerships, and supporting the long term direction of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall commercial strategy and business growth initiatives across the organization
  • Oversee sales leadership, account management, customer retention, and strategic market expansion efforts
  • Maintain and strengthen executive level relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Partner closely with the President and executive leadership team on strategic planning, forecasting, and operational direction
  • Present to executive leadership and Board level stakeholders on commercial performance, growth strategy, and market opportunities
  • Drive revenue growth while supporting margin improvement and long term business sustainability
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a team consisting of 5 direct reports and up to 40 indirect reports across commercial functions
  • Support contract negotiations, major proposal strategy, and high level customer engagements
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement, market penetration, and service offering expansion
  • Work cross functionally with operations, engineering, finance, and service teams to ensure alignment between commercial objectives and execution

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in strategic sales, commercial leadership, and business management within industrial, technical, manufacturing, or service related environments
  • Experience with in rotating equipment, compressors, packaged equipment, pumps, mechanical seals, or related industrial service sectors would be considered an asset, however leadership capability and commercial acumen will be the primary focus
  • Proven ability to lead commercial organizations and drive measurable business growth
  • Experience operating at an executive leadership level with direct exposure to ownership groups, executive teams, or Boards
  • Strong understanding of strategic sales, customer relationship management, and commercial operations
  • Demonstrated success managing high value customer accounts and complex commercial negotiations
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence teams across multiple business functions
  • Experience leading and developing both direct and indirect teams within fast paced environments
  • Financial and commercial acumen with experience supporting forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization
