Job DescriptionThis position helps make gospel teachings, resources, and services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church. This role provides support and leadership for Area sales channel operations, demand planning, inventory management, customer service, and inform/awareness.
Responsibilities- Regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce) and, in partnership with HR, hire, fire, promote, and facilitate any change in employee status within the reporting line.
- Inventory Management – responsible for demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management within the Area, supporting local production needs and maintaining proper inventory levels throughout the supply chain and retail stores. Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet customer needs and identify opportunities for improvement backed by analysis.
- Sales Channel Management – ensure members in the Area have simple and affordable access to products through an appropriate mix of online store, retail stores, and other channels. Ensure optimal customer experience across sales channels. Standardize sales channel operations globally while respecting local customs and practices. Success measured by key operating metrics and customer/employee satisfaction.
- Inform / Awareness – primary owner of all customer inform/awareness activities within the Area. Collaborate with the Area Communications Committee and Area Publishing Services Manager to adapt materials to local language and needs, execute campaigns, and assess effectiveness. Measure success by campaign execution and customer awareness.
- People Leadership – provide vision and best practices to store managers and inventory specialists regarding operations such as personnel management, inventory levels, product assortments, selling cost ratios, security standards, caring for sacred clothing, shipping schedules, and financial and operational standards. Conduct audits across stores and warehouses, hire, train, review and manage performance of staff, ensure technical support, maintain safety, and resolve personnel issues.
- Partnership – coordinate with DTA, Area Support Manager, and Church HQ personnel to establish and report on key management indicators, goals, and facility or personnel needs. Assist with annual planning, oversee the Retail Manager in new store construction and improvements, meet with local leaders for feedback, coordinate with local IPC to ensure system functioning, and collaborate with Area Purchasing staff on procurement and replenishment of locally sourced products.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field and at least 6 years of experience in retailing, inform/awareness, inventory management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Former leadership or supervisory experience.
- Ability to change and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, ERP systems, and ability to set up computer component systems in a POS setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate people and train employees of diverse learning abilities for complex tasks.
- Ability to understand financial and budgeting procedures.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and possession of a current passport.
- English language proficiency.
- Previous international experience.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role, requiring some bending and standing as necessary.
- Employee must be an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints with a current temple recommend.
