Local Area Planning Manager

As a senior leader within the Community Planning Business Unit, you will oversee the Local Area Planning Division, ensuring effective policy frameworks aligned with the Municipal Development Plan.

Your role demands expertise in urban planning, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to an inclusive workplace. Championing innovative solutions and cohesive service deliveries are key aspects of your position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster team development and continuous planning excellence

• Lead a diverse team through change management initiatives

• Participate in strategic planning for business unit objectives

• Coordinate the development of local area policies

• Manage resources and strategies in alignment with goals

Requirements:

• Degree in Planning or related field with 10 years' experience

• 5 years presenting to Council and leading teams

• Familiarity with Calgary’s Land Use Bylaw and Municipal Government Act

• Membership with Alberta Professional Planners Institute or equivalent

• Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships
