About the Role
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee and coach our growing Veterinarians and clinical staff in Western Canada (Calgary-based). We are passionate and committed to nourishing new talents, and this position is critical to enable the performance of our team. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading day-to-day operations of our clinical practices within the Western Region of Canada.
- Develop and execute regional operational strategies that drive consistent performance, operational excellence, and achievement of business objectives across all clinics.
- Provide ongoing leadership and operational oversight to Practice Managers, ensuring effective management of day-to-day operations, staffing optimization, and high-quality client and patient service delivery.
- Drive performance against key operational and financial KPIs, implementing corrective action plans where needed to exceed regional targets.
- Manage deployment of our people and resources, including budgets, P&L, facilities and inventory;
- Lead change initiatives and develop and implement clinic performance improvement plans;
- Lead the training and professional development, and recruitment for our veterinary teams and staff;
- Develop, maintain and promote adherence to hospital policies and protocols;
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, financial metrics, and operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance overall performance.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among the clinic staff.
You are a trusted member of the clinical leadership team and a consistent advocate for patients, team members, and clients. You take initiative, follow through, and are known for getting things done thoughtfully and with purpose.
You lead with empathy and practice genuine, people-first leadership. You understand that strong results come from engaged teams, clear direction, and a commitment to doing the right thing every day.
You bring a strategic mindset and a bias for action, with the ability to deliver sustainable operational and financial results across a complex, multi-site environment.
You bring:- A university degree in a relevant field (management, medicine, or science) preferred
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of approximately 10–20 people
- Experience in veterinary medicine or a related healthcare field (human medicine, dental, etc.) is considered an asset
- Experience overseeing multiple locations within a service‑based organization
- A willingness to travel regularly to support clinics within your portfolio
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills
