Development Manager, Qualico Communities
Location:
Qualico Calgary Regional Office, 37 Quarry Park Blvd SE.
Reporting to the Director, Development, the Development Manager will oversee all aspects of land development, including regulatory approvals, permit delivery, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities- Oversee and direct all aspects of the development process, from detailed land use planning to feasibility.
- Manage regulatory approvals and permit applications, completing supporting documents and due diligence.
- Contribute to annual business planning to achieve economic and organizational goals.
- Lead, manage, develop and provide guidance to the Development team.
- Build and uphold relationships with stakeholders such as politicians, suppliers, landholders, and city administrators.
- Develop and enforce controls and reporting tools to monitor performance, address variances, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare, update and administer project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with Project Managers for selection of project consultants.
- Assist in market analysis and feasibility analysis of prospective land acquisitions.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning/Development, or equivalent.
- Minimum four years of land development experience in a managerial position.
- Valid driver’s licence with reliable vehicle access.
- Successful criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Creating trusting and successful working relationships.

- Cooperating with team members in a supportive, respectful manner.
- Staying current with technical job skills.
- Consistently meeting customer expectations.

- Primarily office based during regular business hours.
