Grounds and Roads Supervisor Position

Lead the outdoor operations as a Grounds and Roads Supervisor at the University of Calgary. This full-time role focuses on infrastructure maintenance, staff management, and ensuring a safe campus environment.

Under the Facilities Management Department, you'll oversee maintenance and repair of campus roads and landscaping. This position requires strong leadership to manage staff, contractors, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Your expertise in horticulture and public works will foster a functional and aesthetically pleasing campus setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead maintenance, repair, and renewal of campus outdoor infrastructure

• Manage daily operations and preventive maintenance programs

• Provide leadership and performance management for staff and contractors

• Administer budgets and contracts for resources and improvements

• Collaborate with stakeholders on projects and customer service

Requirements:

• Degree in Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, or related field

• 5-7 years in grounds and road work operations

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a unionized environment

• Strong background in landscaping and public works

• Valid Class 5 Alberta Operator’s License required
