We are seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor to lead and support our Yard, Trucking & Rail safety programs in Calgary, Alberta.
In this role, you will oversee, develop, and implement Health & Safety programs that increase the well-being and safety for our Calgary operations You will also ensure regulatory and customer compliance and create a Kleysen Safety 1st culture. This role reports to the Manager, Health & Safety Alberta located in Edmonton.
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of rail, liquid handling & transloading with a solution orientated and hands on approach in working alongside the Operations team to:
Collaborate with the Safety teams in Edmonton and Winnipeg to identify, develop and recommend effective safe workplace procedures & best practices.Research and support the development of job hazard analysis, standard operating procedures, safety policies, and training.Conduct & oversee safety inspections, audits, competency assessments, etc.Lead and respond to accident and incident investigations to determine root causeSupport disability & return to work programsPromote proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation strategiesCommunicate safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives to leadership and frontline employeesSupport onboarding, orientation, and workforce development initiatives in collaboration with Operations and HR teamsIdentify opportunities to support & enhance a Safety 1st cultureThis role will offer you:

Experience with in the liquid handling & product transloading and/or transportation industry is an assetPost-secondary education in health, safety and environmental management. CRSP designation is a definite asset.Proven experience developing and supporting safety and health programs, including investigations, procedures, training, and inspectionsWorking knowledge of federal and provincial transportation safety regulations is an assetEffective written and oral communication, and ability to work with variety of teams and employeesAbility to travel within Alberta periodicallyKleysen Group has been in business since 1928 and what started as an over the road transportation company has now grown and diversified to offer its customers transportation solutions, combining rail, transloading liquids & bulk commodities, logistics, inventory and transportation project management.
