The Youth Initiatives Committee champions youth-focused programming that celebrates Western Heritage and Culture while highlighting the innovation and importance of the Agri-Food industry.
The Public Relations Volunteer plays a key role in connecting Calgary Stampede Robotics with the broader community. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with companies, organizations, and community partners while coordinating with the Calgary Stampede departments through the Program Manager. Responsibilities include sharing the vision of Calgary Stampede Robotics, recruiting Community Builders, hosting sponsor representatives, securing event support, and recruiting judges or industry volunteers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about community engagement, networking, and supporting youth-focused STEM initiatives.
Responsibilities of this role may include but are not limited to:
- Liaising with the AgWE and Sponsorship departments to maintain relationships with potential partners, including Sponsors and Community Builders
- Presenting the Calgary Stampede Robotics program to recruit financial or in‑kind support from Community Builders
- Supporting sponsor stewardship, hosting, and reporting activities
- Recruiting judges, technical volunteers, and industry representatives from program supporters to support competition needs
- Coordinating with AgWE and Government Relations to host event tours for visiting dignitaries
- Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative, outgoing, and able to think innovatively
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong time‑management abilities
- Experience scheduling or coordinating teams
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
- Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion
- Embodies the values, spirit, and hospitality of the Calgary Stampede
- Participation in monthly planning meetings throughout the year
- Increased involvement approximately 1–2 months prior to the event
- Full availability during Stampede Robotics competition days held during the Calgary Stampede in July
