What is the Opportunity?
As a Sustainability Coordinator for Aecon, you will support organizational sustainability initiatives as well as operationalization of sustainability on Aecon’s projects.
What You’ll Do Here:
Assist with internal sustainability engagement and communication, including:
Quarterly sustainability newsletter Social media and intranet sustainability highlights Employee sustainability events (in person and virtual)Write entries for environmental and sustainability awards on behalf of Aecon and its clientLeads the implementation of the LEED Sustainability Framework or the Envision Sustainability Infrastructure Framework on projectAssist with project-level sustainability data collection, storage and analysis, in support of streamlining data managementAnswer client and stakeholder requests for information on Aecon’s Sustainability Strategy and performanceKeep up to date with current and emerging legislative requirements and sources of government incentive fundingSupport the project team directly or through managing external consultants to ensure delivery of sustainability requirements, which may include certification under various sustainability rating systems, climate risk and resiliency, operational energy and carbon, embodied carbon, and construction related site emissions.Provides input to the development and implementation of the corporate sustainability strategy, vision, and goals, and align project sustainability outcomes with the overall strategyCommunicate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders to establish clear expectations on sustainability requirements, collaborate on objectives, resolve issues, and report on progress and performanceWhat You Bring to the Team:
University Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or any related fieldHas obtained the ENV-SP (Envision Sustainability Professional) designation considered a strong assetExperience in the environmental, construction or sustainability sector, an assetDemonstrated written and verbal communication skills, coordinating resources as well as the ability to solve problemsExcellent analytic skills and the ability to organize and express ideas clearlyStrong teamwork skills and ability to develop and foster strong working relationshipsComfortable with public speaking and presentationsTake initiative, ownership and work independently with excellent multitasking abilitiesAbility to travel to other projects across CanadaReason for vacancy:

Pay range: $70-75k.
