Position: Food Hub Coordinator at Bright Lights For Africa
Lead community-driven food initiatives with Bright Lights For Africa as a Food Hub Coordinator. Focus on operations, logistics, and culturally specific procurement to enhance food sovereignty.

This hands-on role is essential for the SBCCI-funded Black Food Hub in Calgary. You will use your logistics skills to bridge community strategies with operations, while prioritizing authentic food sourcing from diverse networks. Engage with community members through dignified navigation and team leadership to create impactful food events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source culturally specific foods from African and Caribbean vendors

• Manage inventory, storage, and distribution with food safety compliance

• Oversee client intake and navigation for support resources

• Maintain cloud-based data systems and collect household data

• Recruit, train, and lead diverse volunteer teams for community events

Requirements:

• Minimum one year in community food programming or food bank operations

• Knowledge of African, Caribbean, and halal food systems

• Strong organizational and logistical management skills

• Proficiency in cloud-based data systems and reporting

• Client-centered leadership approach to service delivery
