Lead strategic initiatives as the Director of External Relations & Development at Distress Centre Calgary. This key position focuses on fundraising, government relations, and community impact.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide strategic direction for fundraising, communications, and community engagement. With over 10 years of experience, the ideal candidate will lead a high-performing team, manage donor relationships, and implement impactful campaigns. Your leadership will enhance DCC’s public presence while championing a culture of philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct fundraising strategy and community engagement efforts

• Hire and manage a team of fundraising and communications staff

• Strengthen donor relations and stewardship practices

• Elevate visibility through effective communication strategies

• Oversee major fundraising events and community outreach efforts

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field

• 10+ years in fundraising, marketing, or government relations

• Proven experience in securing significant donations

• Strong relationship-building and strategic skills

• Excellent communication and cultural competency skills
