Business Development Manager – Prairies (Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan)Reporting directly to the National Sales and Marketing Director, the Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth by expanding food‑service distributor coverage and developing top accounts throughout the Prairies with a stronger focus on Alberta.
All candidates must reside in the Calgary Metropolitan Area (CMA – Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, or Okotoks).

- Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- A car to visit customers
- Provide culinary insights and product application to restaurant operators.
- Develop sales for partner distributors, in collaboration with their sales teams.
- Act as our ambassador during culinary trade shows and events.
- Collaborate actively with the sales team and present at the national level.
- Develop and implement effective strategic sales plans and targets that follow the company’s strategic goals for the Prairies, with a stronger focus on Alberta.
- Expand the business by acquiring new customers, opening new markets, and driving revenue growth through a proactive and strategic approach.
- Research and develop sustainable sales opportunities; understand customer requirements, identify market trends, and assess competitors.
- Foster positive relationships with clients (independent restaurants, chain accounts, and broad‑line distributors) to ensure their satisfaction, loyalty, and retention while identifying growth opportunities to expand the company’s market presence.
- Cultivate and maintain high‑level connections with distributors and strategic accounts.
- Plan and implement business review meetings with key customers to discuss sales performance and opportunities.
- Represent the company at various trade shows, meetings, associations, and other events to promote our value‑added products and culinary solutions.
- University degree in a related field (sales management, marketing).
- Minimum of 5 years background in business development and account management, a solid understanding of the food‑service sector, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
- Strategic thinking – developing and implementing sales strategies aligned with overall business goals.
- Strong negotiation skills – negotiating terms, contracts, and pricing to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
- Problem‑solving – quickly addressing challenges and finding creative solutions to meet client requirements.
- Technology‑savvy, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and other communication tools.
- Own vehicle; the role requires regular travel within the Calgary CMA and across other regions in Alberta, with periodic travel to Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
- Culinary experience – a strong asset.
- Social media and marketing background – a plus.
- Second language – an asset.
