Lead Sales Coordinator - Building Materials & Lumber

We are a well-established building materials and lumber company serving residential, commercial, and construction customers throughout the Alberta market. We are currently seeking a highly organized, customer-focused, and driven Lead Sales Coordinator to join our team in Acheson, Alberta.
This is a key leadership role within our inside sales and customer service team, responsible for supporting customers, coordinating projects and orders, and providing leadership to a team of 4 to 5 Inside Sales Coordinators. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, contractors, builders, designers, production, shipping, and operations teams to ensure projects move smoothly from quote through delivery.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in lumber, building materials, millwork, construction supply, manufacturing, distribution, or contractor sales support who enjoys both customer interaction and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and support a team of 4 to 5 Inside Sales Coordinators
- Act as the main liaison between customers and internal teams including sales, design, production, shipping, and operations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, designers, and existing customers
- Provide product knowledge and recommend appropriate building materials and product solutions based on customer needs
- Prepare quotes, process sales orders, and ensure projects and deadlines are completed accurately and on time
- Support customers with product applications, installation methods, and best practices
- Respond to inquiries from customers, designers, and production teams in a professional and timely manner
- Coordinate special orders and custom requests
- Participate in inventory management and monthly inventory counts
- Resolve customer concerns and provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within inside sales and operations
- Experience in building materials, lumber, construction supply, millwork, distribution, manufacturing, or related industries
- Previous experience in inside sales, sales coordination, customer service, estimating, or order management
- Leadership or supervisory experience within an inside sales or customer service environment
- Strong understanding of building materials products and customer applications
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple quotes, orders, and deadlines simultaneously
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Experience with ERP systems, estimating software, design software, or order entry systems is considered an asset
- Technical college, construction, design, or industry-related education is considered an asset
