Weidmuller is a leading manufacturer of electronic and electrical connectivity solutions for the transmission of power, data, and control signals in industrial environments.

We currently have an opening within our Alberta Sales team for a motivated Territory Field Sales Representative to join our team.

As a Territory Field Sales Representative, you will create and support demand for Weidmuller products and services with Engineering, Consultants, End-Users, OEM, and Channel partners within an assigned Territory, and meet and exceed the sales and profit goals for the assigned Region. This is to include assisting in developing and providing services and training to maximize customer satisfaction and sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Increase sales and profit within the region by developing existing and new customers for all Weidmuller product groups and services.
  • Create and develop specifications of Weidmuller products and services with Engineering, Consultant firms, End-Users, and Channel partners within an assigned territory. Completing a minimum of 15 end-user or consultant calls per week.
  • Provides technical support, training, and presentations to Engineers, Consultants, OEM, and End-users.
  • Support channel partners in the development of sales, product training, and special pricing within assigned territory.
  • Communicate and report all sales activities within the territory using our CRM (weekly), Pipeline Reports (monthly), and Territory plans (quarterly) to the Regional Sales Manager/National Sales Manager.
  • Provides territory market intelligence regarding opportunities, competitive information, market trends, industry news, products, services, and emerging technologies.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through educational courses/workshops; professional books/publications; establishing professional networks; participating in industrial societies.
  • Develop and implement territory sales strategies, quotations, project management, product presentations, and training.
  • Coordinate sales and marketing activities to further penetrate the market within an assigned territory while supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
  • Ensures thorough familiarity with and actively adheres to all Environmental and Safety and Security Policies and performs their duties in accordance with those policies.
  • Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental and security regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, etc.) as well as Weidmuller policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Sales Manager and/or National Sales Manager.
Qualification
  • Ability to identify and create opportunities for Weidmuller products and applications.
  • Sales experience with components and systems in the industrial marketplace.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains a professional appearance while providing a positive professional image.
  • Ability to influence others with a proactive approach to selling and problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work individually while contributing to a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office:
    Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with overnight travel; approximately 10-35% of travel may be required.
Position Requirements
  • Post Secondary Education - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (C.E.T. preferred) and technical experience.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of sales experience with Engineering/Consultants, End-users within the Industrial electrical and instrumentation marketplace.
  • Experience working with industrial distribution, OEMs, system integrators and manufacturer representatives
