Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our Career Products team at Mercer, a Marsh business
. This role will be based in Calgary and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
As a Business Development Executive
, you will play a pivotal role in driving the expansion of our Total Rewards Products and Services by supporting the acquisition and development of new mid‑market clients within a designated territory. The ideal candidate is proactive, results‑oriented, and adept at prospecting, cultivating sales opportunities, and collaborating closely with sales professionals to deliver comprehensive workforce solutions.
- Prospect and generate new client leads through targeted email campaigns, phone outreach, and in‑person visits
- Manage and develop self‑generated sales opportunities as well as leads provided by Sales Professionals and Lead Generation teams
- Collaborate closely with Sales Professionals to educate clients on a broad range of workforce solutions beyond Total Rewards offerings
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to maximize lifetime revenue and ensure client satisfaction
- Participate actively in proposal development, negotiation processes, and closing deals related to Total Rewards Products and Services
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, preferably in Total Rewards, HR solutions, or related fields
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage clients effectively
- Self‑motivated with a demonstrated ability to prospect and close sales independently
- Ability to work collaboratively within a sales team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working in a mid‑market client segment or similar focused territory.
- Familiarity with comprehensive workforce solutions beyond Total Rewards
- A proactive approach to identifying and nurturing sales opportunities
- Strong negotiation skills and experience closing complex deals
