Arcobi is seeking a Business Development Representative to support outbound sales efforts and help drive qualified meetings with high-potential prospects across the energy sector.
This is an on-site role based in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of business development, sales development, or outbound prospecting experience and is excited to work at the intersection of AI, energy markets, and enterprise software.
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying and engaging target accounts, generating qualified meetings for senior commercial team members, maintaining strong CRM discipline, and supporting Arcobi's growth with IPPs, BESS operators, energy traders, utilities, and large energy users.
Key Responsibilities- Execute targeted outbound prospecting campaigns across email, phone, Linked In, and other channels.
- Research and identify qualified prospects within Arcobi's target markets, including IPPs, BESS operators, energy traders, utilities, and large energy users.
- Build and manage prospect lists aligned to Arcobi's sales and marketing strategy.
- Develop thoughtful, relevant outreach based on each prospect's business model, market exposure, operational priorities, and likely pain points.
- Book qualified meetings for senior commercial team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in Hub Spot, including contact information, outreach activity, lead status, meeting notes, and next steps.
- Use tools such as Hub Spot, Linked In Sales Navigator, Apollo, ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI-enabled platforms to improve prospect research, outreach personalization, workflow efficiency, and campaign execution.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to refine outbound messaging, test new outreach approaches, improve campaign performance, and increase meeting conversion rates.
- Develop a working understanding of Arcobi's products, target customer pain points, and the broader energy market landscape.
- Track prospect engagement, surface market feedback, and help identify patterns that can inform future sales and marketing efforts.
- Represent Arcobi professionally in all prospect communications and help create a strong first impression of the company.
Success in this role will require consistent outbound activity, strong organization, curiosity, and the ability to communicate clearly with sophisticated energy-market audiences.
- Consistently generate qualified meetings with relevant prospects.
- Support senior commercial team members by creating new conversations with target accounts.
- Build and manage targeted prospect lists aligned to Arcobi's commercial strategy.
- Personalize outreach based on prospect type, market participation, and likely business needs.
- Follow structured outreach sequences while continuing to test and improve messaging.
- Keep Hub Spot accurate, up to date, and useful for the broader sales and marketing teams.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve research quality, writing efficiency, and outbound productivity.
- Learn quickly about Arcobi's platform, energy market workflows, and the commercial challenges facing target customers.
- Work closely with senior commercial team members to prioritize accounts, prepare for outreach, and support pipeline development.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to improve campaign quality, messaging, targeting, and follow-up.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in business development, sales development, outbound sales, or a similar prospecting-focused role.
- Experience booking meetings with B2B prospects through outbound email, phone, and Linked In outreach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable researching complex industries and turning research into relevant outreach.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined with CRM updates and follow-through.
- Familiarity with Hub Spot, Linked In Sales Navigator, and Apollo.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other productivity or research tools.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical, and collaborative startup environment.
