As a vital member of McElhanney’s environmental team, you will work closely with over 60 professionals in a collaborative setting.
Your role includes managing environmental studies, conducting wildlife and fisheries assessments, and ensuring compliance with various environmental statutes. The position offers opportunities to shape project execution and provide regulatory insights while mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete stages of environmental studies from proposal to reporting
• Coordinate baseline studies for wildlife and fisheries
• Assess environmental impacts for infrastructure projects
• Provide environmental advice for engineering designs
• Perform field work including wildlife surveys and monitoring
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Biology or a related field
• 5-10+ years of experience in Alberta
• Proficient in data collection standards and regulatory compliance
• Ability to mentor and work independently
• Experience with GIS and fieldwork in challenging conditions
