Join SLR Canada as an Intermediate Ecologist, based in Calgary, to conduct impactful wetland analysis and ecosystem research. This role is ideal for professionals eager to work in Alberta's diverse environments.
In this full-time position, you will utilize your skills in wetland delineation and classification, focusing on Alberta's standards. Experience in vegetation identification and understanding prairie ecosystems will be beneficial as you perform field sampling. Comfort in wilderness settings and proficiency in data analysis with R or Excel is required for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform wetland identification and classification in Alberta
• Engage in comprehensive field sampling and ecological assessments
• Utilize your vegetation identification skills in assessments
• Analyze data with R or other statistical tools
• Comfortably navigate remote and backcountry environments
Requirements:
• Proven experience in wetland assessment techniques
• Strong data management skills with MS Word and Excel
• Knowledge of species and ecosystems in Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba
• Experience working in challenging field conditions
• Background in wilderness exploration preferred
