Position: Edmonton Quaternary Geologist Opportunity
Join the Alberta Geological Survey as a Quaternary Geologist based in Edmonton or Calgary, focusing on groundwater assessment models. This full-time, 12-month contract role emphasizes geological modeling to inform groundwater resource management.

As part of the Groundwater Geoscience Team, you will utilize your geological expertise in Quaternary deposits to develop strati graphic models that inform sustainable groundwater practices. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and disseminate your findings to support effective regulatory decisions across Southern Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create geological models to support groundwater evaluations.

• Map Quaternary stratigraphy utilizing various data sources.

• Generate geological maps and maintain AGS's scientific credibility.

• Collaborate with hydro geologists for model integration.

• Conduct fieldwork which includes well drilling and logging.

Requirements:

• Post-graduate degree in Geology or related field.

• 5-7 years of experience in geoscience.

• Proficiency in building geological models with Leapfrog.

• Experience with geophysical log interpretation.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
