Position: Junior Biologist / Junior Environmental Professional )

As a junior biologist or junior environmental professional, you’ll help with environmental project delivery in sectors such as energy, mining, infrastructure, commercial and private development.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and under the supervision of experienced professionals, you’ll support biophysical characterization, environmental impact studies and environmental permit applications.

Approximately 50% fieldwork and 50% office work.

Responsibilities
  • Support project managers in preparing and executing mandates.
  • Participate in environmental impact assessments and related studies.
  • Assist with field surveys (flora, fauna, aquatic environments, soil and ecosystems).
  • Contribute to environmental permit and authorization applications.
  • Help develop methodologies and sampling plans.
  • Compile, enter and validate environmental data.
  • Help draft technical reports (inventories, baseline studies, environmental assessments).
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Interest or initial experience in field surveys (fauna, flora, aquatic environments, soils, etc.).
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Asset: knowledge of ArcGIS.
  • Asset: master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French), spoken and written.
