Project Assistant
Bio-Medical Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering invites applications for a Project Assistant
. This recurring part-time position is for approximately 10 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This role reports to the Principal Investigator and is a hands‑on, detail‑focused role where organization and follow‑through will directly impact progress and quality. The Project Assistant will provide operational support to the research teams. This role bridges science, operations, and compliance in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Summary ofKey Responsibilities
- Cross‑Functional Project Support: support coordination across lab, clinical, and regulatory
- Maintain project timelines, trackers, and Gantt charts.
- Schedule meetings and follow up on action items.
- Flag risks or delays to keep projects on track.
- Clinical Study Operations: support clinical study activities alongside study managers such as,
- IRB submission preparation, study start‑up, and site communications.
- Site recruitment tracking and activities.
- Study logistics and documentation.
- Research Operations: support research staff
- Ordering and inventory.
- Documentation preparation
- Service and vendor coordination.
- Communications: assist with internal and external communications
- Draft updates and summaries for leadership, sites, and vendors.
- Compile reports and prepare slides and meeting notes.
- Assist with marketing and advertising activities.
- High‑school diploma and at least three months working in a business or technical environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, reliable, and team‑oriented mindset.
- Adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑motivated and accountable.
