Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to support environmental projects in Alberta.

This position is primarily field-based and will involve travel to support our Alberta operations. The successful candidate will assist with environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring, reclamation activities, field investigations, data collection, reporting, and other environmental consulting projects.

This is an opportunity for an environmental professional with at least one year of field experience to develop their technical and project experience while working alongside experienced environmental professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support environmental projects, including Phase II and Phase III Environmental Site Assessments
  • Assist with groundwater monitoring and environmental sampling
  • Conduct site assessments, field investigations, and data collection
  • Assist with reclamation, remediation, and environmental restoration activities
  • Support field activities such as tree planting and site reclamation
  • Maintain accurate field notes, records, and project documentation
  • Assist with project planning, reporting, and technical documentation
  • Ensure project activities meet client, regulatory, and safety requirements
  • Follow company and client health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Communicate field observations and project updates to Project Managers and team members
  • Apply current environmental regulations and industry practices to project activities
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Reclamation, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of environmental field experience
  • Co-op, internship, or related field experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to travel for fieldwork
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan and/or Alberta environmental regulations is an asset
Additional Assets

The following experience, training, or qualifications are considered assets:

  • Professional designation or progress toward a professional designation
  • Experience with environmental site assessments
  • Experience with reclamation or remediation projects
  • Experience with groundwater monitoring
  • Knowledge of wetland classification
  • Experience with soil characterization
  • Vegetation identification experience
  • Pesticide Applicator License
