Part-Time Laboratory Assistant

Be a critical part of Canadian Blood Services as a Regular part-time Laboratory Assistant in Calgary, Alberta. Help produce blood components that save lives while maintaining vital lab records and equipment.

This role involves supporting the Production team at Canadian Blood Services by processing blood collections into essential products. You will utilize your laboratory skills to assess and produce whole blood, apheresis platelets, and plasma. Attention to detail is crucial for documenting environmental conditions and maintaining compliance with operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and assess blood collections for processing

• Record temperatures and environmental conditions accurately

• Maintain detailed documentation of laboratory inventory

• Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment and work spaces

• Ensure safety and quality of blood products consistently

Requirements:

• Secondary education with 1 year laboratory experience

• Post-secondary background in science preferred

• Strong technical skills, including MS Office familiarity

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records
