We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our construction team and contribute to the successful delivery of our multifamily developments.
Position SummaryThe Carpenter is responsible for executing framing, finishing, and general carpentry work across multifamily construction projects. This role supports the Site Superintendent and Construction Manager in maintaining quality standards, site safety, and project schedules.
This is a hands‑on position requiring strong technical ability, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction & Installation
- Perform rough and finish carpentry in multifamily buildings (wood framing, blocking, backing, soffits, doors, hardware, millwork installation)
- Install interior trim, baseboards, casing, cabinetry, and feature elements
- Complete deficiency repairs and touch-ups to Sarina quality standards
- Assist with layout, measurements, and material take-offs
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately
- Assist Superintendents with temporary protection, hoarding, site setups, and material handling
- Support concrete formwork and miscellaneous carpentry tasks as required
- Coordinate with trades to ensure sequencing and efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Adhere to Sarina Homes safety policies and Alberta OHS regulations
- Participate in toolbox talks and site safety meetings
- Maintain safe operation of tools and equipment
- Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain valid safety certifications
Required:
- Journeyman Carpenter or minimum 3–5 years of residential/multifamily carpentry experience
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Strong understanding of residential building practices and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
- Zoom Boom (Telehandler) Ticket
- Fall Protection Certification
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Certification
- Experience in multifamily wood-frame construction
- Experience working on mid‑rise or boutique apartment/townhome projects
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Time management and schedule awareness
