Journeyman Pipefitter; Nights

Position: Journeyman Pipefitter (Nights )
Overview  Compass is a privately owned manufacturer, retro fitter and service provider of compression and process packaging equipment for the North American natural gas industry. We are seeking a Pipefitter for the night shift who will report to the Foreman and Lead Hand.
Responsibilities   Keep the work area clean and orderly.
Install process and utility piping systems for natural gas and process plants while maintaining quality standards and time schedules.
Follow written and oral instructions from the Foreman, Lead Hand and Coordinator.
Assist tradesmen, move parts and prepare materials safely.
Operate equipment safely and use hand and power tools (drill press, band saw).
Assist with light welding, grinding, cutting, drilling, tapping and fabricating brackets.
Operate forklift and crane as required.
Participate in Compass Safety Program including accident investigations and worksite inspections.
Wear PPE and observe health & safety policies and procedures at all times.
Read and interpret blueprints, select pipe sizes, types and materials, fabricate supports, assemble and install process spooling, fit and install threaded socket weld pipe according to specifications.
Qualifications   Journeyman Pipefitter ticket.
Experience in the compression industry and rigging.
Own tools as per the Compass Tool List for Tradesmen.
Knowledge of Quality Control procedures: CWB, ASME, ABSA where applicable.
Knowledge of OH&S, rigging, sling and crane operation procedures.
Robust organizational, time management and problem solving skills.
Team player with attention to detail.
Ability to stand for long periods, climb and work at heights over 10 ft, crouch and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Ability to work in a noisy, smoky, dusty shop with varying temperatures.
Willingness to assist with other tasks and duties as needed.
