Pipelayer – Infrastructure; Water & Sewer

Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Pipe Layers supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Calgary area.

• Work with Excavator Operator to cut grade
• Installation of graded pipe, manholes, catch basins and any other associated structures
• Installation of pressurized pipe and associated fittings including valves, tees, bends, and hydrants
• Service pipe installation
• Monitor and ensure backfill of installed pipe
• Expose existing utilities
• Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members
• Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the water and sewer industry
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Reliable transportation to and from site
• Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
