Job Summary
Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at the customer’s site.
We are looking for a talented Engine Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Calgary, AB.
Impact Areas- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls
- Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
- Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
Availability to travel out of town sometimes overnight.
This position has on‑call responsibilities (rotational schedule between all technicians).
Experience with High Horsepower applications.
This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle record, free from major violations, and must meet the conditions of the company policy.
Education, Licenses, Certifications- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
- Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience- Significant field service work experience
- Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Customer service experience
- Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
