California Water Service is seeking a Meter Technician to manage large water meter tests and repairs in San Mateo, CA. This role emphasizes accuracy and technology use in field operations.
As a Meter Technician, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing large water meters, ensuring they meet regulatory standards. This position requires an understanding of both water quality specifications and effective communication with team members and vendors. You will operate in various environments and may work overnight, depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Test large water meters using calibrated tools
• Operate valves for inspections and repairs
• Maintain detailed maintenance and inventory records
• Prepare necessary documentation for completed work
• Communicate effectively with contractors and district personnel
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid California Class C Driver’s license
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems
• Knowledge of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
• California State Water Distribution Operator II certification
