Job Overview

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (DHC) is an international aerospace manufacturer headquartered in Calgary, AB. We invite soon‑to‑be Avionics graduates to work hands‑on on the DHC‑515 Firefighter in our advanced manufacturing facility.

Eligibility

Open to Avionics Program graduates from SAIT, Okanagan College, Mohawk College, BCIT, or Fanshawe College.

Calgary, AB.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform electrical wiring tasks and system installations in an aircraft manufacturing environment.
  • Understand Standard Wiring Practices and avionics systems, and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, and manufacturer installation manuals.
  • Maintain knowledge of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, flight controls, and major components for comprehensive avionics work.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems—including communication, navigation, flight control, and entertainment systems—ensuring functionality and safety.
  • Fabricate and repair parts following drawings and standard practices, including building wire bundles, labeling, bundling, and terminating wires into connectors.
  • Conduct system checks and inspections to verify compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of work performed and keep an organized inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, promptly reporting any safety concerns or unsafe conditions.
  • Trace and document parts removed or installed on the aircraft.
  • Use avionics test equipment and hand tools for system testing, installation, and repair.
  • Operate ground support equipment such as power carts and lifts when properly trained.
Who You Are
  • Soon‑to‑be graduate from an Avionics Program at SAIT, Okanagan College, Mohawk College, or Fanshawe College.
  • Eager to gain real‑world experience and develop skills in a professional manufacturing setting.
  • Comfortable with technical documentation and following detailed instructions.
  • Team‑player who thrives in collaborative, hands‑on environments.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work safely with tools and equipment.
  • Physically capable of working at heights or in confined spaces when required.
