Journeyperson Electrician - Valard Construction

Become part of Valard Construction in Calgary or Edmonton as a Journeyperson Electrician. You'll support substation construction and upgrade high-voltage electrical facilities across diverse project sites.

Our Substation group is seeking experienced Journeyperson or Apprentice Electricians. You will be engaged in medium to high-voltage installations, heavy equipment handling, and wiring for distribution networks. Teamwork with the Site Supervisor and Foreman is essential to manage project scopes and ensure safety on site while traveling between sites based on the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install medium- and high-voltage switch gear and transformers

• Build cable trays and perform steel erections

• Conduct high-voltage terminations and grounding

• Handle cable installations and terminations accurately

• Comply with safety policies and report tool defects

Requirements:

• Journeyperson Electrician certification or registered apprentice

• Understanding of safety regulations and quality control

• Ability to read blueprints and comprehension of SCADA

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

• Previous experience in utility construction preferred
