Journeyperson Electrician

Join Valard Construction as a Journeyperson Electrician in Calgary or Edmonton, AB, and play a key role in substation projects involving high-voltage equipment. Engage in construction activities and travel as needed to project sites.

We are seeking experienced Journeyperson or Apprentice Electricians to support our Substation group. Your work will include installation and commissioning of HV equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with the Site Supervisor to maintain project integrity and address any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install high-voltage equipment like transformers and circuit breakers

• Build cable trays and perform steel erection

• Complete high-voltage terminations and bonding processes

• Handle medium- and high-voltage cable installations

• Communicate effectively with project leads on all tasks

Requirements:

• Journeyperson Electrician certification or Registered Apprentice

• Previous utility construction experience preferable

• Strong understanding of electrical systems and blueprints

• Valid driver’s license with good driving record

• Commitment to safety regulations in all operations
