Must be a skilled craftsperson in their trade, and we prefer a minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in the HVAC plumbing/mechanical equipment service industry. Special consideration will be given to those applicants who also have provincial certification A/B Class - Gasfitter.
Required/Specific Skills What we look for:- Red Seal Journeyperson Plumbing Ticket with a willingness to pursue an HVAC apprenticeship path and further develop technical expertise in HVAC systems
- 3+ years of residential / light commercial / heavy commercial mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to perform general building maintenance.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with boilers over 400,000 BTU.
- Ability to service and install various manufacturers of plumbing mechanical equipment.
- Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
- Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
- Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Appropriate licenses to work with boiler and steam operational & service knowledge.
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to be on-call as required.
- This position is open to union or non-union tradesmen.
- Class A Gasfitter
- Permits/appropriate licensing to work with refrigeration equipment an asset (such as EPA/HRAI Refrigeration Certification)
Pay Range: $51.96 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
