Valard Construction is seeking Electricians (Journeyperson or Apprentice) to join their Substation group in Calgary, Alberta. These roles involve hands‑on work at various project sites, building and upgrading high‑voltage electrical facilities for distribution networks and renewable energy projects. Ideal candidates are safety‑focused, adaptable to travel, and experienced in utility construction or eager to learn in this environment.

• Journeyperson Electrician certification OR Registered Apprentice Electrician
• Previous experience in the utility construction industry considered an asset
• Knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, and quality control
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and understanding of SCADA systems
• Comprehension of EB&G Principles and lock out / tag out procedures
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Willingness to travel and accommodate multiple shift rotations

• Expertise in medium and high voltage electrical systems, particularly in construction settings and cable terminations
• Experience in medium‑to‑high‑voltage substation construction
