Outdoor Forklift Operator and General Labourer
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Outdoor Forklift Operator and General Labourer, where you will play a crucial role in managing oversized construction materials in a bustling environment. This position involves operating large outdoor forklifts, primarily handling lumber materials, and contributing to general labor tasks in our expansive yard.
Responsibilities
- Operate large outdoor forklifts to move oversized construction materials.
- Load trailers and organize products in the yard using RF scanners.
- Perform general labor duties, including lifting 50-60 lbs consistently when required.
- Engage in outdoor work, adapting to various weather conditions.
Essential Skills
- Forklift certification from a 3rd party provider (online course acceptable if expired).
- Minimum 6 months experience with sit-down forklifts, indoor experience acceptable.
- Material handling expertise.
- Proficiency in RF scanner usage.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in lumber yards or with building materials is advantageous.
- Outdoor forklift experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment
Work in a dusty, noisy, and busy facility with approximately 60 staff members. The environment features 18 outdoor forklifts operating constantly. You will work primarily outdoors, with minimal indoor time. Although forklifts are heated, expect exposure to extreme cold during winter months. The facility is not transit accessible, and the role requires appropriate attire such as steel-toe boots and safety vests.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
