What We NeedThe Sourcing Analyst works closely with the Procurement team to analyze and optimize sourcing strategies. This role involves collecting and interpreting data, identifying trends, and collaborating with suppliers to achieve cost savings and enhance overall procurement efficiency.
What You’ll Do- Coordinate all activities related to procurement of a commodity from intent to purchase through delivery.
- Analyze the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and buyer requirements.
- Solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested commodity. Investigate and/or interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
- Advise team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
- Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs. Implement purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
- Ensure the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company. Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to ensure accurate retention of records.
- Coordinate appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintain contact with appropriate internal partners to help determine short and long‑term demand.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 2-4 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
