Accountant
The Accountant is an established performer that is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves analyzing financial information, reconciling accounts, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities- Maintains updated and accurate automated or manual filing and data systems that provide a quick reference database of records.
- Fulfills reporting requirements for rebates and other ad hoc requests.
- Assists in preparation of the consolidation of inter‑company transactions.
- Processes financial close, including scheduling nightly automated close processes in JD Edwards and checking month‑end reports.
- Collaborates with the corporate accounting team on account reconciliations and recording of journal entries.
- Compiles, analyzes, and calculates cost data, and maintains the standard cost for purchased products.
- Records and reviews cost calculations with management to ensure consistency with the selling price.
- Reconciles and researches excessive variance issues and determines causes.
- Maintains and manages all components of cost sheets and specification sheets for all budget forecasts.
- Enters all necessary budget information onto overhead sheets by department and prepares summary of budget by locations.
- Verifies that statistical and financial reports are accurate and in compliance.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
- 2‑4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Knowledge of operating and capital budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
